Starting the Quest and Locating the First Clue
To initiate the quest, head toward the Lifeguard HQ located along Santa Monica Beach. In the area near the headquarters, you will encounter a unique Crusher zombie named Dante. Eliminating Dante drops a journal entry that activates the mission and directs you toward a nearby locker.
Step inside the Lifeguard HQ structure and navigate through the interior hallway to locate Randy's locker. Opening the specified locker yields another vital note containing cryptic hints. This note urges players to investigate two separate meeting points across the pier to piece together the safe combination.
Tracking Down the Meeting Point Journals
The first meeting point leads slayers directly onto the Santa Monica Pier near the iconic Ferris Wheel. Head behind the nearby ice cream kiosk to find a journal sitting on a wooden bench. Collecting this item secures the first half of the combination code needed to unlock the hidden stash.
For the second clue, travel back toward the main row of shops located near the front of the pier area. Search the narrow alleyway behind the store buildings near the cafe sign to find Dante's burner phone. Picking up the phone completes the combination sequence, though it also triggers an ambush from nearby undead forces.
Unearthing the Safe and Defeating the Horde
With both clues secured, return to the exterior perimeter of the Lifeguard HQ. Search the sandy ground along the outer side of the facility to locate a partially buried safe. Before you can interact with the lock, you must defeat a large wave of aggressive zombies that spawn in the surrounding area.
Clearing out all active threats allows you to safely open the buried safe and claim your reward. Slayers are rewarded with the Blood Rage legendary dagger, a devastating fast-attacking weapon perfect for critical damage builds. Mastering this quest provides both valuable experience points and an essential tool for surviving tough late-game encounters.
